Vermeer

Three Private Art Classes, Live, using Zoom and Powerpoint for Distance Learning. Webinar.

As an art ‘Professore’ I have studied Vermeer since 1975, and just finished the manuscript of my book ‘Closer to Vermeer’.

Today, because of Corona / Covid-19, most museums are less accessible; therefore I now offer remote live classes using Zoom and Powerpoint in order to share my vast knowledge. In these classes you have direct online contact with me in audio and in video images. This is Distance learning at its best!

Listing of all Powerpoint art classes on Vermeer, Rembrandt, Van Gogh etc.

Below are a few options:

Vermeer Life and Work

Powerpoint, presenting deep research. Find out how Vermeer emerges as a super-specialist in interior scenes. We discuss how he functioned in the fabric of Delft life. We discuss two of his best works: View of Delft and the Art of Painting (Artist in Studio). In this talk we see psychological tricks of the painter’s trade and include Optics and Science in Delft. A lifetime of research by this author is presented, with a preview of his book ‘Closer to Vermeer’. Full live commentary by the top-level guide Drs Kees Kaldenbach, art historian living in Amsterdam with 20 years of teaching experience.

“The lectures continue to inform and entertain…I’m already getting rave reviews”. Sarah, a private art group now taking their 7th consecutive class with Drs Kaldenbach. September 2020.

Vermeer, Love life and his Family Situation.
Powerpoint. Witness how Vermeer flourishes as a super-specialist in interior scenes. Those scenes are focused and calm, a perfect world, in stark contrast with the reality – his total of 11 children running around in his own home in the 1660s. We discuss Vermeers home, inventory and his work in the Guild of St Luke. You see a preview of Book ‘Closer to Vermeer’. Full live commentary by the top-level guide Drs Kees Kaldenbach, art historian living in Amsterdam with 20 years of teaching experience.

Vermeer Women, Poetry, Stillness.
Powerpoint.  Young women and their private daily activities with  feminine mystique and sometimes the meeting of young eligible males. Often filled with upper class women, damsels and their suitors.  An escapist paradise. Vermeer understands their inner life; he is the proverbial Homme a Femmes. Preview of book ‘Closer to Vermeer’. Full live commentary by the top-level guide Drs Kees Kaldenbach, art historian living in Amsterdam with 20 years of teaching experience.
The Digital Vermeer House, inventory of his actual interior of 1676.
