Britsh Museum, London

World art: Archaeology, Egyptian, Syrian, Mesopotamic, Roman, Celtic, Early English, etc.

Join me for a visit to the outstanding British Museum, London.  I will be your private professor, travelling in from Amsterdam, Holland specially for you.

Tour by Drs Kees Kaldenbach, a professional Art History scholar with excellent teaching skills. Specialist in Fine art and Design, Architecture and History. VIP entry. Entry best at from 9 or 10AM.

Please note, this is a high level offer. Practicalities: I live in Amsterdam, Holland and do NOT run a travel agency.  I do however provide Fabulous international museum tours. The plan is that you contract me for one or more days as your private ‘Professor’ and offer full transport to that city, plus hotel accommodation in the same place you will stay. We will spend quality time together in mornings and early afternoons.

Drs Kees Kaldenbach: „…he is wildly overqualified to be a guide . That is his secret… Trust me on this.” Gabe. Statement made February, 2017.

Fine Egyptian art everywhere. Collected over the ages.

Elgin Marbles. Saved by Lord Elgin for posterity from melting away in acid rain. The Greeks think differently about it.

Mausolus, burial extravaganza.

Early Celtic goldsmithing. Buckle. Animal style.

Warren Cup. A very explicit homo-erotic scene. Here is the peeping Tom.

Celtic shield. Masterwork of smithing craft. Found in the Thames river.

Another Acropolis Elgin Marble. The Greeks think differently about it.

Business card. The logo refers to Vermeer.

Author Kaldenbach lecturing.

The British Museum needs no explanation. Everything here is of the highest quality.

The collections are the result of centuries of benign rule or alternatively not-so-benign rule (let’s call it statecraft or imperialism).

One may state that by saving these objects for the world, and properly exhibiting the finest objects, they have been shielded the objects from the elements and from rowdy men with hammers.
